In his work, Steve Giasson prioritizes ideas and language over images and forms. His committed and tongue-in-cheek practice is generally based on pre-existing artworks and/or historical or daily fragments which he appropriates using various mediums (conceptual writing, performance art, micro-intervention, photography…) It is also characterized by its economy of means and by the use of fragile and ephemeral materials that affirm his strong rejection of the spectacular and decorative.
